At one company he utilized Scala and MongoDB, to help build and maintain a spam catching network that processed over 10 million email messages daily, in addition to maintaining a reporting dashboard for customers. While at MLB he migrated thousands of marketing pages from 10-year-old JSP/Groovy system to a new CMS with NodeJS on AWS between baseball seasons. Andrew also taught the fundamentals of web software engineering to 30 students in Galvanize’s Full Stack Immersive Class.
Outside of work Andrew can be found spending time with his family, tinkering with technology or homebrewing.
